As agreed at the 2022 AGM a sub-committee was set up to review Club Trophy conditions and also to ensure that equality is maintained throughout the Club.

The attached document gives the full details of the proposals but here is a summary of the key points:

1. Club Champion reduces from 25, 50 and 100 miles to 10, 25 and 50 miles which reflects the events that are currently being run and entered by time trialists;
2. BAR will remain as is and will only change in line with any changes made by the governing body;
3. E1 Champion will become a Sporting Courses Champion to reflect the lack of events on the E1 and associated courses
4. Comparable women’s trophies have been added for all competitions and will be purchased by the Club in the year they are first won (at least one trophy has already been offered as a donation)
5. 30 mile events no longer appear to be in vogue and so these will be removed from qualifying criteria (the Best 30 trophy remains though)
6. All Evening 10 competitions will have the “must ride 10 events” removed and points will count from “up to 10 events”.
7. A Road Bike trophy will be added for the Evening 10s
8. The Hill Climb trophies will become Road Bike events.
9. NO TROPHIES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED

All proposals were presented to full committee at their meeting in March and agreed unanimously. It is felt that this is a great way forward for the Club and will be welcomed by all racing members and allow competition for a lot more trophies than were presented at the recent Prize Presentation.

We have had over 20 new active members in the past year, your Committee have been very committed to providing a great future for the Club. Onwards and upwards.

If you have any questions then please speak to a member of the Committee.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
