Windy week 1 saw Captain Kev Baumber go fastest overall as the only rider under 23 mins for the Open TT and Vets first place. Fred Barlow and William Barlow both took wins in the Road Bike and Junior races, and John Butcher was deserving winner of the handicap. Olly Beale flew to win the juvenile posting a rapid '26' on his road bike. Isabel Beale would have taken all the female titles had she only been old enough, as it was she had to settle for BEATING HALF THE FIELD on her road bike. The future's bright, the future's Beale. Special congratulations to Ramsey Kechacha for not puncturing for once (he broke his chain instead).
